1. Celebrate the artistic talent of youth in La Plata County.
Many youth are incredible artists and share a joy of creating art. Help us pack the house for us for this unique opportunity to enjoy the artistic talent of area youth in a display of positivity and creativity. (All proceeds from the Youth Art Exhibit go directly to the artist.)
2. Educate the public about LPYS.
Since 1994, La Plata Youth Services has worked with youth experiencing challenges at home, in school, and with court involvement by providing them with the support and services they need. Our programs include: Assessment, Individualized Case Management, Restorative Justice/Mediation, Substance Abuse Group Counseling, Service Learning, Pro-Social Activities, Summer Programs, and Community-Based, Collaborative Programs – including Collaborative Case Management, Therapeutic Mentorship, and Community-in-Schools Programming. For more information about LPYS, please visit: www.lpys.org.
3. Raise funds to support LPYS programs and services.
As we expand our programs and services to more youth and families, so too does our budget need to expand. Funds and materials donated to LPYS will help us to increase our capacity to reach a greater number of youth in La Plata County and to offer more year‐round programs and services. Contact us to SPONSOR a piece of artwork or to DONATE to our silent auction.
With the help of Durango Arts Center, La Plata Youth Services and community partners and businesses, Durango Arts Center will exhibit in the foyer a group exhibition of mixed media art created by young adults. The exhibition gives the young artist a chance to display their work in a professional setting, add a gallery exhibition to their resume, and engage with professionals in the art world. Durango Arts Center will work with the youth to hang and install work. The exhibition will open with a silent auction on February 16th, 2017 to be hosted at Durango Arts Center, 802 E 2nd Ave. Durango, CO 81301. 970.259.2606
